Kindly note that glass is not covered under the manufacturers warranty or motor/Maintenance plan and as a result falls into the realm of the right to repair by the client.

Full and conspicuous disclosure of terms and conditions; additional requirements for contents In order to improve the adequacy of information available to consumers, prevent deception, and improve competition in the marketing of consumer products, any warrantor warranting a consumer product to a consumer by means of a written warranty shall, to the extent required by rules of the Commission, fully and conspicuously disclose in simple and readily understood language the terms and conditions of such warranty. Such rules may require inclusion in the written warranty of any of the following items among others:
A vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle electronics.
Aftermarket glass (AS) is locally and internationally accredited and has automotive safety accreditations including: SABS and Insurance Approval
Benson Glass, Fuyao, Safevue and Shatterprufe
- In terms of all the glass that Glasfit sells it would be classified as an ARG – Automotive Replacement Glass. Genuine glass or OEM glass is only supplied by the motor manufacturer. It would have the motor manufacturer logo on it and would only be sold through their dealer network. In terms of Benson, Fuyao, Safevue and Shatterprufe Glass, we are similar to the Shatterprufe product in the sense that all our glass is manufactured specifically for the aftermarket and sold outside of the dealership network. In terms of quality, its performance is regulated by international global certification bodies.
- All aftermarket glass is SABS approved, European E mark approved as well as American DOT approved and has the same quality certifications as that of the original motor manufacturers’

The extended warranty is a policy written by the insurance company that extends the warranty(motor plan) of the vehicle beyond what is offered the manufacturer. (manufacturer’s warranty) This covers the critical mechanical and electronical parts of the vehicle – excludes glass.
